7 Months!

Yesterday our little bear turned 7 months old! She is more wiggley than ever (see pictures below) and on the verge of crawling . She gets up on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth. She is a determined little girl, and I would be surprised if we made it through the weekend without her putting it all together and taking off!

Wow, at 7 months Blair shows such personality. She is the happiest little thing in the mornings... we don't know where she gets that from. She's got this big gummy smile that makes her whole face light up, especially when we pick her up from school or she hasn't seen us in awhile. My favorite smile is still her shy girl smile that she gives people. It is adorable.

Blair loves to put anything in her mouth (hello teeth!), likes to play with her toys (though notably she thinks the tv remote is hers), and bounce in her bouncer. She likes to look at her books, though gets very frustrated if she isn't able to turn the page. I am tallking frustrated. And mad. Whew, we are in trouble with that! She just wants to do much more than she is physically capable - but she will get there. She still loves to play with Raleigh and Kingsley. Kingsley cracks her up, probably because he rarely shows interest, and when he does, he brushes up against her and he is super soft. She giggles every time. One of Blair's favorite things to do, is to have Mommy or Daddy pick her up and "chase" Raleigh around the house. The laughs that come out of her are hysterical. Blair loves "Chica" from the Sprout channel. Chica is a little chicken puppet that squeaks and B loves it. We found a puppet on Etsy that is pretty close and all we need to do is add a little squeaker.

Blair is on Stage 2 foods and has tried all kinds of neat foods... like Macaroni and Cheese! Haha, she loved it, just as I knew she would. She is a very good eater, but doesn't care much for peas and green beans (what kid does?). She loves yogurt! That has been a fun addition to her menu.

Any time she tries a food she hasn't had in awhile, she makes this "yucky" face and shakes her head like we are feeding her the grossest thing possible. It fades by the second bite, but is still pretty silly. Blair is still happy to have a bottle in between meals. As active as this little girl is, she needs her calories!

As you might have seen from a previous post... Blair now has a tooth (well, it is working it's way out)! Finally! We have been working on it forever!

Sleeping... eh, yeah, about that. We are ready for this girl to start pulling all-nighters, but no such luck. Especially when she is sick (like she is with this pesky ear infection). She wakes up anywhere from 1 - 3 times a night and after about 4 or 5 oz of her bottle, she is back down. She is still going to bed pretty early, anywhere from 5pm (last night) to 6:30pm. Generally, she is up by 6 or 6:30am (this morning she slept to 7:15am!). Blair rarely naps, and if she does, they last about 20 minutes. Like I said before, she doesn't like to miss out on anything!

This weekend we are spending time at the house, trying to get everyone over being sick. Today we will be carving Blair's pumpkin and I have a little art project planned if she is up for it! I will be sure to post those pictures later!

Here are B's monthly pictures. This month was by far the msot difficult since Blair wanted to move the entire time. She doesn't ever really stay still, so it was quite a challenge. These were the best I could get! Enjoy!

She was pretty wiggley, so we moved to the glider in her room...

Happy 7 month birthday to our sweet baby girl!

Our Weekend in Pictures!

Here are some pictures from this past weekend...

Deciding what she'd like to order for lunch

My two most favorite people. Ever.

Loves water bottles (so I took some and filled them with bells, streamers, beads, etc and super -glued the lid on)

Hanging out with Reagan and Peyton (the girls were so cute... they both immediately changed when we came over to match Blair's giraffe print onesie!)

Blair and Taylor

Blair and the Benson cousins! (I love Peyton's face in this pic!)

Reagan loving on B

We had such a good time finally visiting with Uncle Mark, Aunt Sara and the girls! It was LONG overdue! Reagan and Peyton just loved playing with Blair and Blair was in awe of the big girls and loved getting so much attention. The girls even gave Blair an Abby Cadabby doll! So, so sweet! They also "cleaned out" their gameroom and gave B a kitchen (score!) and a rocking horse. Peyton said, "Wow, look at all of this room we have!" So very cute.

We also broke the news to them that we had "boo-ed" them the week previous. We know that you aren't supposed to tell, but Mark and Sara said they really couldn't figure it out and were guessing other neighbors! We couldn't help ourselves but to tell them. I have always wanted to "boo" someone, and now that we have Blair, she gives me the perfect excuse! :)

After a fun afternoon with the Bensons, we had Loren's 21st birthday dinner and celebration. B was very tired after the long afternoon, but hung in there pretty well, all things considered. George and Roslyn were so gracious to host a big family dinner at El Real, a neat Mexican food restaurant in the Montrose area. They play old black and white movies on the walls and have the most awesome cheese enchiladas! Trav and I cannot wait to go back!!! Here are a few pictures from the night!

And those pictures got us through to Sunday... which as you may already know, was the day Blair's 1st tooth came in! Quickly followed up by her first ear infection. Now it is Tuesday and both Travis and I have the makings of a sinus infection. Is it the weekend yet??? George and Roslyn stayed with Blair this morning so I could go into the office for a few hours (Saints!!!). Provided that her fever stays away, she will be going back to school tomorrow. Fingers crossed about the fever - and that Travis and I are able to kick this sinus infection before it gets too bad. We have aleady started on the Mucinex and Zicam. It is not even 6:30pm and Blair is already asleep (no nap today) and we are in bed.

On another note, since Sunday, Blair has been determined to crawl... every day she gets a little closer. Today she has done so much rocking on her hands and knees, it seems imminent. I am going to need an entire week to baby proof. Let the fun begin!

First Tooth (and the end of gummy grins)

Well, the day finally came... Blair's first tooth has come through! Just 5 days short of her 7 month birthday (Sunday, the 23rd). We have been waiting for nearly four months! The first one to emerge is her lower left tooth. It has come with a lot more drooling (something I didn't know was possible), fever and a runny nose. My sweet baby's gummy grins are soon to be over.

Throughout the day, she continued to feel worse and became increasingly restless. We knew that sleeping would be minimal, so I decided to go into work late, then Travis came home at lunch so I could go into the office in the afternoon (I really needed to go in since I was out for jury duty on Friday). Around 2:45am last night, her fever shot up to 101. She seemed better in the morning, but later the fever returned in the afternoon, so we took her to Dr. Kavin's office. Turns out; ear infection in one year and fluid in another. The doctor asked if she had been around young children recently, and Travis told them that she had just finished her first week of day care. The doctor laughed and said, "Yep! No surprise you are here!" Her immune system is still trying to get used to the change, so I guess this was bound to happen. We are trying to hold out on giving her the antibiotics, but if her fever gets high again, we'll have to start them. Things are never dull around our house.

Other than that "excitement," we had a great weekend! We finally caught up with Uncle Mark and Aunt Sara and the girls, then celebrated Loren's 21st birthday (and still paying for it today)! I have to say, I am a little happy the last of our siblings has turned 21. I am too old to be going out and drinking. Whew. Gammy and GranDad are having Blair over this weekend and I plan on taking full advantage and sleeping as much as I possibly can. I am talking about sleep of epic proportions.

I will post pictures of our fun weekend later on this week. Right now I need to get some sleep. Poor little B will be up soon. Bless her little heart.

New Shoes

Blair had a great first week at school! She is adjusting really well, and her teachers marvel on how happy she is and how she is doing. They say she is the best eater they have ever had! She is eating two containers of food in the morning and two at lunch, and another one around 2pm for a snack. She isn't drinking a lot of formula, but since she is eating so well, I am not worried. She still takes a bottle in the afternoon and one after dinner, before bed.

We tried switching diaper brands (thinking it wouldn't make a difference) so we could really buy in bulk. Turns out my little fair, sensitive-skinned baby didn't do well with the switch. Back to Pampers we go.

It is so cute to see all of the cute little arts and crafts that she makes in class. Travis and I are looking forward to being able to bring them home and put them on the fridge. Soooo cute!

Now that the weather is cooler and Blair is getting older, Travis and I have been wanting to get Blair these adorable shoes. She loves Sesame Street and I found these little Robeez from Stride Rite that had Abby Cadabby on them. Oh my gosh are they precious! These were too cute to pass up!

We got them for her today, since she did such a great job this week. We are so proud of her! And not a surprise, B loved them!! :) All she wanted to do was touch them and look at them. Love.

And yes, that's a beard my husband is now rocking. Movember is nearly upon us, so the grow out has officially begun and again, I have waited too long to do Christmas pictures. We'll be looking to do them in early December.

We have a fun weekend planned! Tomorrow we are finally getting to see Uncle Mark, Aunt Sara, Taylor, Reagan, and Peyton! We are looking forward to catching up and doing lots of playing! Then, tomorrow night is Loren's big birthday celebration! Ally is coming into town too! Yay! It is going to be a great weekend! :)

First Day of School

Yesterday was Blair's first day at her new school. She did great! I was a wreck the night before and all during the day, but only called once to check on her. :) She was all smiles when Travis picked her up and her teachers said she was such a big girl. I am still adjusting to the longer hours and spending less time with her, but we are working to keep her up later so we get more Mommy and Blair time. Thank you to all of our sweet friends and family that have been there for us during this tough transition period.

Wiggling on the floor

Still working on the crawling

This girl loves to watch football... that's my girl!

Silly silly face

This is a picture from her first day of school, she was moving so it was blurry. Plus the lighting is weird because it still dark outside and the overhead lights are on.

Enjoying the beautiful weather today!

Laughing at Raleigh and Daddy

Giving me kisses (well, her version)

All she wanted was me to hold her and bounce up and down, not that I minded.
