22 Months - Silly and Sassy

22 Months!

Eating - Blair's eating has really improved over the last couple of months. She now eats macaroni and cheese, grilled cheese, hot dogs (and will actually dip it in ketchup) and sandwiches. Blair still loves her applesauce and yogurt, but at least she is beginning to be open to more kinds of foods. She uses her own spoon and fork pretty well and we are still working on drinking out of cups without lids.

Sleep - Blair is sleeping through the night, most nights. Sort of. I may have to start putting a sippy cup with water in her crib at night because she will wake up and say, "milk." I take that to mean that she is thirsty (since she asks for milk throughout the day). Although now that I type this - realize that she quite clearly wants what milk brings - momma, rocking in the chair, and snuggles to fall back asleep. More for me to work on.

Clothing / Diapers - Bug is in 3T, but mostly 4T clothing. I have been known to buy 5T from time to time when needed. Since she is now wearing pull-ups, she is in the 4T / 5T size.

Speech - there are really too many words, phrases and silly jibber-jabber from this small bit too name them all. My favorite thing she says is "I love you toooo." It's sweet and it's perfect. Her voice is perfection and when she says "Amen" after her prayers, my heart swells twice its size.

We have had a lot of fun this past month... and here are some pictures to prove it!

Tickle, tickle

As a little girl, my grandmother would "tickle" my face (and arms) with something soft. Usually it was a small feather or something similar. Now, I tickle Blair's face with a few strands of my hair (which works out rather well since my hair is so long). She loves it and always says, "Tickle, tickle!" It is a fond memory with my grandmother, that I now share with my daughter.

I'd like to introduce...

... The newest member of the Wright family : Jonah. Actually, Blair says his name is "my fish," so we are still hammering out his name.

After a steady fascination with the movie, "Finding Nemo," Trav and I decided that Blair might like to have a fish. We were right. She loves him! When Trav took her to Petsmart, he showed B a bunch of different betas. Jonah was the 3rd fish she was shown, and she was in love. Her mind would not be changed or dissuaded. (I love that so much about her!!!)

Christmas 2012 (Part 1)

We were lucky enough to spend Christmas most of our family this year. In total, we celebrated 4 different days / nights. Prepare for picture over-load.

Saturday, after Blair's nap, we headed over to George and Roslyn's (Gammy and GranDad) house to celebrate. The weather was cool (in the 70's) and perfect to play outside. Good thing too since Gammy and GranDad got Blair a tricycle! She was in heaven and although wasn't 100% sure about the pedals / steering, she enjoyed getting to ride around. Thank you to Jorge for putting the bicycle together. I had trouble assembling the wagon Blair got for Christmas, so I was especially thankful for Jorge's help (and awesome picture taking!).

Aunt Jourdan got Blair a butterfly dream light! She loves it and sleeps with it every night. Gammy and GranDad also got B a new pair of light-up shoes (which are super cute and sparkly), a pretend veterinarian set and a grocery store cart (along with grocery item essentials). Fun. Stuff.

Exited about her new trike!

Big Stuff.

Love her sweet, smiling face!

She looks like a woman on a mission. She has perfected her mother's serious, all business demeanor, whilst navigating through a crowded grocery store.

Getting some help from Mommy...

...and some help from GranDad!

Then, on Sunday, we headed out to Hempstead to visit Gramma Ancy, Grandpa Robert and Auntie Loren. Blair was (of course) her usual, silly outgoing - self. She LOVED getting to play outside with Hank and the other horses. We love watching her with the horses, she gets so tickled by them!

Blair loved her Sesame Street chair / sleeper

(Sorry about the quality of these photos [iphone+wiggley subject = blurred shots])

Her new, fold out chair / sleeper from Gramma Ancy. It was a huge hit (and still is!).

HHHAAAAAANNNNNNKKKKK!

Hank didn't care for the apples, but loved the alfalfa!

Love her faces in these two pics!

T and I joke around that we always see Blair in this blur because she is always on the go!

On Christmas Eve, we celebrated our family's tradition of having dinner at the Taste of Texas. Since the girls are in their most restless / impatient stage, we decided to go for an earlier dinner, as to miss the long 2 - 3 hour wait. Thank goodness we did. We got there at 2:15pm and waited no longer than an hour (more like 45 mins). Unfortunately Zoey had been sick, so she and Ligia stayed at home. We were really bummed that they weren't able to join us for dinner, but knew Z would be more comfortable at home. Of course, than means I got no pictures of the girls together during Christmas. My heart hurts a little because of that. :(

Blair did really great at the table (during dinner) and we kept her busy with crayons, a Christmas eve stocking filled with goodies, play-doh, etc. Travis took her outside at the end of the meal to run around. All and all, it was a successful dinner. We definitely missed Dad, Zoey and Ligia. Hopefully we will all be together again on Christmas, next year.

After dinner, the majority of us came back to our house to open gifts. I wish I had gotten more pictures of Blair opening gifts, but things can get a little hectic.
