Coincidence? I think not.

On March 28, 2010 (one year to the DAY before Blair was born), we visited Gaga at the cemetery. God shows himself in many ways. What a wonderful, wonderful sign of His and Gaga's love.

Somewhere over the Rainbow

For Blair's 1st birthday party, I decided on a rainbow theme. I thought it was a really cute idea and would be easy enough to tackle (I have plenty of years to really "out-do" myself). I wanted to keep the party small and intimate - so as not to overwhelm Blair (she is still rocking red, fluid filled ears - but more on that later). We kept it with close family (grandparents, aunts / uncles) and friends. She was so happy when she recognized each guest. You could tell she was looking around and excited that knew each person and that everyone was there for her. Pretty neat stuff. She was her usual silly self (the silly self that really was not wanting to wear a bow) and kept the fit outbursts to a minimum. It was a special, special day.
Forgive me for the pictures being completely random with not much sequence. They came from multiple sources and Blogger doesn't make posting pictures very easy (I have to upload all pictures first, then write out the blog). Here are some of the highlights...

The Wright family birthday wreath (initials to be changed out)!
The inspiration for the party: Travis and I had MATCHING bedding as babies. Same baby comforter sets and our mothers saved for us. Love it.
Now you see the bow...
Blair thought that Baby Logan might be a present for her. I assured her that was not the case, but she sure enjoyed watching that iddy biddy baby.
Blair's new set of wheels. I am pretty sure that she would sleep in there if we let her. Sometimes the Cozy Coupe sleeps in the guest bedroom for a couple of days.
Zoey and Mimi playing in the ball pit
Blair's Burger Bar
All the fixin's
So, to break up some of the monotony of solid rainbow colors, I decided to add in some Sesame Street stuff. Blair LOVES Sesame Street, so I thought it was a cute way to tie it in (especially because they also said "1st birthday" and were in your typical rainbow / primary colors). I think it turned out really cute!
Being silly underneath the table
Blair and her pretty Auntie Loren
Hudson, Blair and Zoey playing in Blair's new playroom (which still needs a ton of work, but this is what we are working with for now).
Hudson!!! Such a cutie and looking like such a big kid!
"Rocky" the rocking horse was a gift from Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Robert. She loved it!
Trying it out...
She is pretty pumped about this car.
Zoey!
I stayed up the night before the party, making Blair's cake. One box of cake mix, a bundt pan, and a lot of Wilton dye. It turned out just like I hoped it would. Not bad for an amateur!

The birthday girl's high chair
Loving the cupcakes!
Her reaction to sugar? A rough night of sleep for all of us. It'll be awhile before she eats something that sweet again.
"Somewhere, over the rainbow,
Skies are blue.
And the dreams that you dare to dream,
Really do come true..."

It's funny how life changes...

On March 21st, Travis and I celebrated three blissful years of marriage. We ate a wonderful dinner at Tony Mandola's. They recently opened a new location on Waugh, so it was exciting to see their new place. I love this tradition of ours. It always reminds me of our wedding! Here are some pictures from each year of our anniversary... it's funny how life changes.

3/21/11 (one week before baby!)
3/21/12 ... and now with baby!
I love this series of pictures because it makes me happy and proud of our progression in our marriage and life. I am so very blessed and I thank my lucky stars everynight.
Happy 3rd Anniversary to my sweet, kind, charming husband Travis. I love you!

Did I mention teething?

She's at it again... her "i" teeth are working their way in, and I think her one year molars are also giving her a little bit of a rough time. Poor Bug!

Pictures from Grammy and Grandpa's

Last weekend, Travis and I bravely tackled the much anticipated and dreaded, garage spring clean. It only took us most of the day! Haha. Luckily, while we were busy doing that, Blair got to spend the day at Gammy and Grandpa's house. Look at all of the fun they had! Blair almost didn't want to leave them!

This picture was actually taken a week or so before in their backyard. I love it, so it makes the cut! ;)

Turtle watching (how funny is that?) with Grandpa
And Gammy!
Playing with the flowers

Swinging in her new swing. I don't think she likes it at all.
Such a sweet little lovie. She came home exhausted... which worked in our favor since we felt the same!

11 Month Pictures and what we've been up to...

Ok, so you might have noticed that I am a little behind on B's 11 month pictures. That is because there always seemed to be a slew of things to postpone them. So, she is actually 11 1/2 months here (and I know one day I will look back on this and laugh). I put her sticker on her back because not only will she not lay still so I can snap a picture, but she tries to pull off the sticker when she sees it. Plan B - put it on the back.
It's funny I took her picture playing with her two favorite things at the moment - bags (purse, diaper bag, whatever she can find) and her ball pit.
Check out my adorable little girl. Careful, she is a heart melter.

Love this sweet little face!!!

I wish I could tell you that we have been doing some really neat, life changing stuff. But such is not the case. We've just been L-I-V-I-N (thank you Matthew McConaughey they for making this part of my vocabulary). Seriously though, we've just been doing the routine of things, throwing in the occaision trip to the DMV or ear infection - teething combo, just to keep things interesting. Last week, Blair began teething again. Knowing where this usually heads (see runny nose, fever or ear infection), I took Blair to the pediatrician and they confirmed her ears were red and that there was fluid sitting behind each one. So we started the antibiotics that night and I think kept it from infected. Whew. Our appointment with the ENT is on Thursday. Man, it can't come soon enough!

This weekend is Blair's birthday party! So the last few weeks have been kind of crazy getting everything planned out (well, finalized really) and purchased. It is a lot of fun, but I am finding it to be a bummer that she is already one. Not a surprise there. I could hardly keep from crying while writing her one year letter. It's like that... I feel like she just got here. And already a year is gone. Where was I?

Focus. Ok, so the party planning is mostly done and we are getting very excited. I have to say, this event hasn't nearly been so stressful since the maid comes tomorrow. Thank goodness! They broke our vacuum cleaner the last time they were here. but they promised they would get it fixed. That was their first and last strike - or I'm changing services.

Travis just got "off" from a week and a half stay-cation. It was time to get out of the office and he never gets to use all of his days, so it seemed like a good time to take it easy. We kicked off the mini stay-cation attending the Radiohead concert. We had great seats and it was a fun little date night! Travis kept Blair home most of the time and they had a blast being silly and getting some good Daddy - daughter time. ♥

It has been a busy couple of weeks for our friends! My friend Cheryl had her little boy, Logan, a few weeks ago. Logan's girlfriend-for-life (since they are so close in age!) is Kendall Michelle, my friend Kristen's baby who was born last Friday. Yay! Two new little ones... I have already gotten to meet Logan and will go and meet Kendall in the next couple of weeks. Congratulations Gals!

Ok, so that is us in a nutshell. Although I have to say, I am so happy for my sweet hubby for working so hard. He just got his bonus / raise - yay! (Not a moment too soon since the fridge is on its last legs and the washing machine is making an unusual sound. American. Dream.] So proud of you, T! ♥
