We've been struggling with Harlow having bad gas the last couple of weeks. Over the weekend, Travis and I made the decision to (yet again) change her formula. She is now on Enfamil Gentlease to hopefully reduce the amount of gas and discomfort she has. Although it has not been eliminated commpletely, the gas has been lessened. We are hoping that as her system continues to mature, that she will grow out of it. I am on the hunt for baby pre / probiotics to see if that helps. We'll try just about anything to help Little Miss be more happy and comfortable.
Boy - when they say that "no two babies are the same" - they are right! Harlow is on a much different sleeping / eating schedule than B. Whereas Blair was eating 5-6oz in a feeding, Harlow likes to snack and space out her eating. When she wakes up from her nap, she likes to eat 2oz, then be awake (and get a diaper change) for a little while before taking another 2oz to go back to sleep. Because of this eating schedule, she cat naps during the day (anywhere from 30-60 mins at a time) and only pulls about 2-3 hours at night (before waking to feed). I am not aggressively working to change her schedule - but I am gently trying to get her to eat more during her feedings - slowly creating the domino effect of longer stretches of sleep. Since her weight gain is going so well, Dr. Kavin said to let her do her thing (she's up a pound and a half in 2 weeks!). Last night I was able to get her to take a 4oz bottle during one of her feedings (yay!). Let's hope this is a trend we are working towards. Momma could use some longer sleep stretches. :)
Everyday, Harlow and I take Blair to school. We've been making it there about 9 or 9:30am - which I am pretty proud of. It is a little bit of challenge getting the girls ready - but it's going pretty well seeing as we've only been doing it a couple of weeks. In a few weeks, the 7am drop-offs will be much more difficult. Harlow does really well in the car (thank goodness!) and just sleeps once the car gets going.
Our days are spent mostly hanging out (with me doing some misc chores - such as finally pulling down our Christmas decor) and snuggling with this super cold weather we've been having. I am beyond obsessed with this sweet girl and am so grateful that she is a part of our family. We ALL love her so much and are so happy! We are beyond blessed with two beautiful and healthy girls. ♥
Here are Harlow's ONE month pictures, as well as other misc pictures from her first month.
