This year, we celebrated Easter all weekend! We kicked off the Easter weekend with a Bug sleepover at Gammy andGranDad’s. While we were missing our Bug, Travis and I decided to make-up our anniversary dinner at Tony Mandola’s. We usually go on the night of our anniversary (since they catered our wedding and it is one of our favorite places!), but since that pesky stomach bug had taken down both B and T – we had to cancel. We had an amazing dinner, then headed to a very special showing of the legendary Rolling Stones documentary – CS Blues. This documentary is shown only a couple of times each year and it is very difficult to get tickets. They were showing the film at the Museum of Fine Arts. T and I love any excuse to beat the museum. We recently caught the Black and White Picasso exhibit there.
Saturday morning, we prepared for our first Easter celebration. We were hosting my family and Travis’ mother and her husband for lunch and an egg hunt. We had lunch then hid eggs for the girls. Although they were initially unsure of what to do – it didn’t take long until they were running all over the yard, picking up the eggs, and of course shaking them to hear what was inside. The funniest part of the day, was the egg hunt that we did for Chris and Craig. Travis decided he wanted to do something a little non-traditional – so he and Conner hid eggs for the twins. Although they were a little skeptical at first, they also got into it and were taunting each other the whole time, seeing who could find the most. It was hysterical! The best picture was courtesy of Christopher, who captioned his pic, #winning.Too funny.
On Sunday, Blair was up bright and early. It gave us the perfect opportunity to Skype with Mimi and Pops! Pops was just getting off work, so we got to visit with them before saying goodbye and preparing for the morning. We made breakfast, then headed to church with George and Roslyn. Blair did really well through most of the service (she LOVED the singing and dancing at the beginning) and we only had to leave a few minutes early. We took her home so she could get a good nap in, then headed back to George and Roslyn’s for lunch and a visit with Aunt Andressa and cousin Daniel! Blair had a blast hunting for eggs and carrying her Easter basket allover the yard. We also got in our viewing of the “The Grinch.” She loves to watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Suess. It is so silly, but it is what she does. She climbs into Gammy and Da’s bed, gets all snuggled up in the covers and watches the mean Grinch. After a busy afternoon, we headed back to our house to enjoy the last of the weekend.
It was such a fun weekend… but we are exhausted! This week I am preparing for Blair’s 2nd birthday party (and hopefully this week I will get around to doing her “big 2 year old”post!). Cross your fingers that we don’t get any rain!
Sorry for the horrible quality since these were snapped with my iphone!
