I
have waited to write this post – mainly because I didn’t know if I should write
it since it is less than a month away from the big “2.” So today I decided that
I would do a quick post with some updates with what Miss B is doing at 23
months (tear).
·
Her
speech is increasing by the day and Blair has recently (in the last few weeks)
putting together 2 - 4 word sentences. Sometimes she gives us a babbled
response – but then she will use her “big girl” words (i.e. – English).
Recently, she has begun saying “Huh?” while squinting her eyes and cocking her
head to one side (after I say something to her). It looks cute, but I know that
she hears and understands me – so I am on a mission to break the “huh”
response.
·
She
loves to hold hands and while doing so – hop, skip & gallop
·
Has
gotten quite good with using a spoon / fork with few casualties
·
Miss
B loves to sing – her favorites include “Spoonful of Sugar” originally sung by
Ms. Mary Poppins, the “ABCs” and “Rockabye Baby” which she sings very well, with
me, at bedtime.
·
Like
any other (almost) 2 year old, Blair loves to be outside. Whether we are at the
park, riding her bike, taking a wagon ride, or just writing on the driveway
with sidewalk chalk – she is in heaven. Poor child does not yet understand that
come May – that all will change (until about October).
·
Blair
is going to be the flower girl in Loren’s wedding! I have been busy helping
Loren and Shaun out with the details, whilst thinking about some cute dress
options for Blair. Lace and cowgirl boots – that’s what I have in mind.
·
I
had a parent / teacher conference with Blair’s teacher the other day. She had
nothing but good things to say about Bug and assured me that she is right on
track. J I
expect nothing less.
·
“Times!”
(While holding up one finger) means “one more time.” Really, it just means
“again.”
·
At
any given moment, there are 3 – 4 “babies,” face down on the floor with
blankets over them (like they are napping). Blair takes her time laying each
one down, covering them with their blanket, and patting their backs for their
naps. She is so very nurturing and is going to make the best big sister one
day!
·
Dancing.
Machine. Enough said.
·
Enjoys
helping out with simple chores – carrying her plate to the kitchen and helping
load the laundry machine.
·
Eating
is a bit of a task. She has expanded her palate, which is great, but she hoards
food in her cheek, which drives T and I crazy! It doesn’t happen with a
particular kind of food (except that it never occurs with yogurt), so it is
random and once we try to address the (lack of) chewing – she becomes super
stubborn and refuses to chew / swallow. Stubborn – my child? To put it mildly –
dinner time is not my favorite time with Bug.
·
Has
the cutest quirks that remind me of her Daddy… like if you do “Five Little
Piggies” on one foot, you are gonna have to do it on the other and telling me
about each and every picture of her classmates on the bulletin board outside of
her class – every morning.
·
Blair
is 36 inches tall, wears mostly 4T and 5T clothes and is wearing 4T/5T sized
pull-ups. Oh, and her shoe size is an 8. Her weight is in the 30 - 33 pound range.
·
Is
her Momma’s girl, but loves to have Daddy read her stories at bedtime. ♥
·
Turns
out my spirited little girl with all of her spunk and energy – gets it honestly
from me. Oh, and did I mention strong-willed and silly too?
I
have been busy working on Bug’s Teddy Bear Picnic birthday party (if you follow
me on Pinterest, you can see all of the precious ideas that people have come up
with). We had to move it to early April, due to Easter being so early this
year. Normally I would be worked up over the date change, but honestly, I could
use the extra time to get everything together! Invites will go out soon - I promise!
