Random Thoughts for a Friday...

Ok, onto the post... some random thoughts for Friday.
The Election: It is so scary how America can be so divided on the future of our country. You’d think with the all-time high employment rates, our trillion dollar deficit and the promise of more taxes to middle class Americans (such as my family and many others) – that we could all be united. I think Obama is a disgrace to America and I couldn’t be further against him. I don’t agree with a lick of his policies and his plans for growing the government. He has a track record of doing nothing – except spending. Although I have yet to watch the VP debate last night – I have heard plenty about the constant smirks and rudeness from ol’ man Biden. I am looking forward to watching it. Will the outcome of the debate change how I intend to vote? Absolutely not – because I do not believe in the Obama (Marxist-esque) vision for MY country. And you can take that to the bank.
Sub-part: The Republican’s “War on Women.” Excuse me while I vomit a little. Looks like now, women are demanding that the government pay for their birth control. Why? Is it because the $24 a month is too much because your iphone plan is so high? Give me a break. Besides, the women that really need the birth control (and I am talking about the ones that have 8 children and are receiving government assistance) – won’t use it anyway. Maybe if Obama stops running our country and deficit into the ground – you might be able to put on your girl panties and pay for it (and your own health insurance).

Fall: Fall is in the air. Pumpkin Patches have sprouted up everywhere and festivals are running rampant. Tomorrow we are going with the Jett’s to the Katy Rice Harvest Festival. I could not be more excited! I know Blair and Caleb are going to have a blast. Even the adults may have a little fun. J
My Dad: I am missing my Dad terribly. I think about him all of the time and miss seeing him and catching up on our lunch dates. He sends us all daily emails about what progress is being made (for obtaining simple things like more permanent housing, a driver’s license, and a bank account) and the happenings where he is. He even met an engineer that had just moved from KATY! Can you believe that? And get this, within in the last 10 years, that person spent 7 years in Oman. Small world… or is it? I think it is merely more than a coincidence. God works in mysterious ways…
Weather: I could really take a few degrees cooler weather. It is fall after all! When am I supposed to wear the cute fall trends (like riding boots, scarves, etc.) when it is still 90° outside? I bought a really, really cute pair of leopard flats a few weeks ago. I got them in my typical size 7 – and they are at least a size too small. And of course – now they are sold out. Oh well. At least Blair’s leopard shoes fit and are precious! I could not have been blessed with a more fabulous mix of girly-girl and tom-boy. I am a lucky Momma!
The Big 2: I have started planning Bug’s 2nd birthday party. Yes, already. I have a really cute theme for this party and I can’t wait to see it all come to fruition. I think it will cute for all her little buddies, too!

PINK: With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month – it is neat to see folks wearing their pink – even the NFL players. I am truly blessed that my family has not suffered from such a terrible disease. I used to think (when I was much younger) that breast cancer only affected a small community of older women – but in recent years – it has really spread and affects young women and men as well. When I used to volunteer at MD Anderson, my supervisor, Logan, would say that cancer is "an equal opportunity life destroyer." The courage of those fighting this battle is remarkable and humbling. Should I ever find myself battling this beast – I pray I do it with the strength and dignity that I have witnessed from other fighters. I hope you all show your support and donate where possible.
Inflation of the Halloween candy: Can I just say, that I went into the store the other day and saw bags of candy for $13 and 15 a pop? I will say that it was the “good” candy – but still! Nothing like the old days where a holiday like Halloween didn’t cost you an arm and a leg. Sheesh. Gonna need some hope and change to make it through the holidays this year.

Here are a couple of cute pictures of my Little Biddy. She is the cutest thing ever – yes, I am 100% bias. J
